Reminds me of how, in the New York City subway system, the signs and announcements against sexual assault and harassment are the ONLY signs about unlawful behavior that are framed as requests to victims to speak up and “tell a police officer.” All other prohibited behaviors are framed in a “HEY YOU - DON’T DO IT!” manner. But rape and sexual assault? Nah… it’s the victim’s responsibility to handle it, not a potential perpetrator’s obligation to restrain themselves.  I fucking hate rape culture. subconciousevolution: The Not-Ever Campaign in Scotland.
