Siri steers iPhone users away from Planned Parenthood, to "Crisis Pregnancy Centers" run by anti-abortion activists

A: “Sorry, [my name], I can’t look for places in Tanzania.”

Meanwhile, despite the fact that prostitution is illegal, Siri obligingly located Charming Cherries escort service just a few blocks away.

It’s really unfortunate that ThinkProgress stoops to baiting about sex work on this topic, because it muddies the waters about Siri’s blind spots around emergency contraception and abortion services in Siri. It’s actually fine for Siri to point the way to legal escort services. What’s not okay is the bizarre obfuscation of vital health services, and you don’t need to raise some scary boogeyman of sex work to make your point.
